Aussie Painting vs the lowest bid

You shouldn't have to paint it twice.

The cheapest quote skips the prep, uses cheap paint and does one coat. It looks fine for a few months, then it peels, and you're paying someone to strip it and start again.

Quotes and price

How do I get a quote?

Call us or send the form with a line about the job and where you are. We'll arrange a time to look at it and give you a written quote. The quote is free.

How much does it cost to paint a house?

It depends on the size of the area, how much preparation the surfaces need, their condition, access and height, and how many coats it takes. We don't guess over the phone: we look at the job and put the price in writing, with each of those explained.

Do you take a deposit?

Yes, but only enough to cover the materials for your job. Everything else about payment is set out in your written quote before we start.

How long will the job take?

It depends on the size of the job, how much prep it needs and, outside, the weather. Before we start you get a planned schedule, and if anything moves the dates we tell you.

Why aren't you the cheapest quote?

The cheapest quote usually skips the prep, uses cheaper paint and stops at one coat. It looks fine for a few months, then it peels and has to be redone. We fill and sand properly, prime where it's needed, use Dulux, put on enough coats for full, even coverage, and back it with a 7-year workmanship guarantee on interior walls and ceilings. That costs less than paying for the same job twice. The guarantee covers peeling, flaking or blistering of paint we applied, caused by our preparation or application: 7 years on eligible interior walls and ceilings, 12 months on other eligible painted surfaces, and no fixed period on decks, floors, paths, stains, oils and clear finishes. It stays with the customer who paid for the job and doesn't pass to a new owner. Other conditions apply. The full terms are on our guarantee page.

The job itself

Who actually does the painting?

Daniel's team of trade-qualified painters. Daniel runs the business and is your contact from the quote to the final walk-through.

What paint do you use?

Dulux, on every job. We pick the right Dulux product for the surface, whether that's a wet-area ceiling, weatherboards or a factory wall.

Do we need to move out while you paint inside?

Usually not. We work room by room and agree the order with you so the house stays livable. Floors, furniture and lights are covered, and we clean up properly at the end, with no dust or drips left behind.

What time of year is best for exterior painting?

Dry, mild weather. Paint needs a dry surface and a temperature in the manufacturer's range while it cures, so exterior work is planned around the forecast. You get a planned schedule, and if rain moves the dates we tell you.

Do weatherboards need to be stripped back before painting?

Not always. Sound paint is sanded and spot-primed; flaking or failed paint is taken back until it's sound. We'll tell you which your house needs when we look at it.

Do you paint commercial buildings and factories?

Yes. As well as homes we paint offices, shops, warehouses and factories across Frankston & Mornington Peninsula.

Do you paint roofs or new builds?

No. We don't paint roofs or do new builds. We stick to repaints, inside and out, for homes and businesses.

Peace of mind

Are you insured?

Fully insured, $20 million public liability, on every job.

Do you guarantee your work?

Yes. We back our work with a 7-year workmanship guarantee on interior walls and ceilings.
